Sólheimajökull Glacier
Sólheimajökull Glacier is a tributary coming off of the Mýrdalsjökull ice cap in the South portion of the island. From 1930 to 1969, this glacier retreated almost a mile. From 1969 to 1995, it advanced almost half a mile, and gained density/thickness by almost 325 feet. Since 1995, it has retreated again, this time more two-thirds of a mile, and has lost density/mass of over 390 to 490 feet.
