I have a passion for all things nature and I love the outdoors! Being in various geographical locations and environments is something that I thoroughly enjoy. I love the opportunity to be in nature, and see what happens on any given day, as it always gets my adrenaline pumping! You never know what is going to happen when going out on a photo shoot. Sometimes you get the shot you are looking for, and what may seem like the majority of the other times, the shots don’t happen, yet it is still a thrill being out in Nature!
I grew up in Northeast Georgia, and loved spending time in the woods with my brothers. From an early age, I often read and looked at countless National Geographic Magazines that my father collected and had displayed around the house! What a thrill to see photos and read stories about cultures and lifestyles in other parts of the world and to see both similarities and differences. Our family also traveled on weeks-long road trips to several State and National Parks around the U.S. This was a huge contributing factor to the reason that I love spending time in Nature! I have lived in 8 states across the continental U.S., (GA, FL, VA, IL, PA, MD, AK, UT) and I am currently living/working in my second continent, at McMurdo Station in Antarctica!
What I try to accomplish with my photography is simple. I do my best to not over-process or color-correct any photo. Shooting in “raw” format, I try to bring back the natural colors that were present at the scene, and to simply let that raw beauty of Nature speak for itself. My photography is so much more about the image and the content within, than it is of the image taker. I hope you will find my work to be of that simplicity.
